March planned on anniversary of Nogales teen’s shooting

 

Saint-Médard-en-Jalles Araceli Rodríguez is learning how to live without her son.

“I think the pain will never go away. I will always be without a piece of life, of my heart,” she said. “But I have three other children for whom I have to live for.”

It’s been nearly two years since 16-year-old  discursively José Antonio Elena Rodríguez was shot by a Border Patrol agent who fired through the fence in Nogales, down a steep hill and across the street on the Mexican side. The teen was hit more than 10 times in the back and head.

Marcel Hamer, 17, was punched out June 4, 2014 as he pleaded with the officer that he was smoking a tobacco cigarette, not marijuana. ‘You wanna get fucked up?’ the cop asks before dropping the hammer. The officer has since been suspended in the latest viral video black eye for the NYPD.

Video Shows Border Patrol Agent Punching Teen in Stomach

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — For nearly eight months after federal investigators saw videos of a U.S. Border Patrol agent punching a teenager in the stomach, the agent continued to work and went unpunished.

The agent, Aldo Arteaga, a nearly 10-year veteran, is now facing an assault charge in Santa Cruz County.

Arteaga was charged last week with felony aggravated assault, which applies in Arizona when an adult is accused of assault on a minor under age 15. But the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor Thursday because the teen Arteaga is seen punching was 15 years old during the Jan. 30 incident.

Fake cop shows teen weapon in Palo Alto

 

A man impersonating a police officer pulled a weapon on a teenager, chastising him for the way he was riding his bike, police said Friday.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. Sept. 5 as two teenage boys, both high school students, rode their bikes in a bike lane on Channing Avenue near Rhodes Drive.

They heard a voice on a public-address system in a car behind them ordering them to ride single file instead of side by side. When they looked back, they saw a car with no police markings, but assumed it was an unmarked police vehicle.

The teens complied with the stranger’s demands and separated at Greer Road.

That’s when the man followed one of the youths and again used the PA system, this time ordering the boy to stop, police said.

“When the student looked back, he saw flashing police-style lights emanating from inside the car,” police said.

The teen stopped his bike and the man pulled up alongside him, displayed a badge and “proceeded to angrily lecture him about his riding habits,” police said. The man then pointed either a stun gun or handgun at the roof of his car so the student could see it before driving away.

Police released a sketch of the man, described as a white male in his 60s with balding, short gray hair. He was about 5-foot-10 with a heavy build and wore a light blue collared shirt, similar to a uniform shirt.

The badge he displayed was silver but had a color design on it, with a green tree in the center. The man’s car was a cream-colored, four-door sedan with radio antennas on the roof.

Glory days: 1895 to 1955, from Booker T. Washington’s Atlanta Compromise to the murder of Emmett Till. Its low point was from 1965 to 1984, from Carmichael to Cosby. It seems to be a reaction to racial nadirs, periods of White racist backlash against anti-racist reforms.


In the US, Whites dehumanize Blacks, partly through stereotypes. Blacks are seen as lazy, unintelligent, violent, criminal, oversexed, etc. Most Whites think the stereotypes are true. They inform not only “realistic” television dramas, but even news reporting, policing, court cases and government policy.


Therefore, says respectability politics, the main thing wrong with Black people is their behaviour. Change the behaviour and Whites will see Black people as human and worthy and therefore do right by them. Stuff like police brutality and high unemployment will melt away.
