“A demographically weighted world history would cover times and places in proportion to the number of people who lived in them. The idea is that, as much as possible, every person who has ever lived would be equally represented in its pages.

 

For example, instead of spending 50% to 75% of its pages on the West, like most “world” histories written by Westerners seem to do, it would spend only 25%. The other 75% would be used to cover – the other 75% of the world. Western colonialism would be told from both sides.

2 killed, 2 injured at Nevada middle school; witness says student shot teacher

(CNN) — [Breaking news update at 2:20 p.m. Monday]

Of the two killed in Monday morning’s shooting at a Nevada middle school, one was a staff member at the school, and the other “appears to be a student/suspect in this case,” Washoe County School District Police Chief Mike Mieras said. Two students were injured, he said. One underwent surgery, and the other is “doing well,” he said.

A 13-year-old student told the Reno Gazette Journal that a student fired a shot at a teacher at a Nevada middle school on Monday. “The student was pointing a gun at the teacher after the teacher told him to put it down, and the student fired a shot at the teacher, and the teacher fell, and everybody ran away,” the student said.

Sheriff: Taunting post leads to arrests in Rebecca Sedwick bullying death

“The bullying that led Rebecca Sedwick, 12, to jump to her death stemmed from a dispute between her and a former classmate over a boy, police said Tuesday.”

 

“Yes IK I bullied REBECCA nd she killed her self but IDGAF,” the Facebook post read, according to CNN affiliate WFTV. Judd said the initials meant “I don’t give a (expletive).”
