The 13th Amendment allows incarcerated people to be used as free and forced labor. And now U.S. prison labor has morphed into a multibillion-dollar empire. Many of our clients have endured this reality while major corporations profited off of their work.

In Mississippi, women who are incarcerated are working at Popeye’s for less than minimum wage and even being “hired” out TO INDIVIDUALS to do housework, yardwork, etc.

The police response to the Uvalde school shooting was riddled with “cascading failures,” according to a DOJ report released yesterday. But we’ve all failed the victims of gun violence in Uvalde and across the country by not passing common sense reforms.

Shooting at Perry High School in Iowa is the 4th shooting at a school so far in 2024.
