ICYMI: Man Pointing Gun At Police and Children NOT Killed By Police [VIDEO]

More news has been discovered giving validation to the belief that only black men are shot and killed by the police.
A video released from August 7th, 2014 reveals police responding to a man, Lance Tamayo (age 45), waiving and pointing a gun at men, women, and children in Mission Bay Park, San Diego, but not fatally shooting to kill the individual.
This is a stark contrast to the what has been seen in the media where unarmed, black men have been shot multiple times and killed by law enforcement. The black men being shot by police are filled with bullets, where in this case with the white man waiving his guy was only shot one time and then negotiated with to move away from the gun as he fell.

When police shoot unarmed Black and Latino men they shoot them MULTIPLE times and then do NOT provide medical help.

The Tarnished History and Image of Police Departments

Long before there was a police force in America, there were sheriffs. The office of sheriff has its roots in 9th century England. According to the National Law Enforcement Museum, the early policing system was modeled after the English structure, which incorporated the watch, constables, and sheriffs (derived from the British term, “shire-reeves”) in a community-based police organization. The British system developed from “kin policing” dating back to about 900 A.D., in which law enforcement power was in the people’s hands, and they were responsible for their families or “kin.”) Early law enforcement was reactionary, rather than pre-emptive—the watch usually responded to criminal behavior only when requested by victims or witnesses.

‘Selma’s Missing Epilogue: The Recent Dissolution Of The Voting Rights Act

The final scenes of the 2014 film Selma, which depicts Martin Luther King Jr.’s struggle for federal voting rights legislation to protect African Americans in the South, leave viewers applauding, content with our nation’s civil rights progress after witnessing a concrete example of how a protest effected meaningful national change. But what the movie doesn’t provide is an update — a scene that flashes forward almost 50 years to show how the exact rights granted to blacks who marched across Alabama in demonstration have recently been eroded by our highest court and then by states across the country.

Do you think we will every be able to vote from home to avoid all this voter ID mess and votes getting thrown out because someone has the same name?

The American Holocaust

A premeditated mass murder of civilians is happening in America. Its victims include the mentally ill, the disabled, the homeless,  infants, children, and minorities. The majority of its victims are Black males.

While some victims of the American Holocaust are killed by civilians claiming self-defense, the majority are killed by deputized law enforcement. There are some prejudiced citizens who conclude that certain people are up to no good. They call the police who shoot to kill first before asking questions. Using color and claim of official right, there are no consequences for their actions.

“Tario Anderson was simply walking down the street.”

“Anderson had committed no crime but since he did not immediately bow down to the police, he was tasered and cops piled on top of him.”

In a similar story a deaf Black man was beaten by the police, and in another story a Latino with a colostomy bag (‘looked like a gun’) was tackled by the police.

Samuel L. Jackson Just Challenged Celebrities to Call Out the “Violence of the Racist Police”

In a bold move, heavyweight actor Samuel L. Jackson has issued a call to action, similar to that of the ice bucket challenge, but for police.
Saturday, on his facebook page, Jackson offers to “all [the] celebrities that poured ice water on [their] head, a chance to do something else.”

Jackson challenges celebrities to sing the “We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free” song.
The song starts off with a reference to Eric Garner’s last words.

I can hear my neighbor cryin’ ‘I can’t breathe’

Now I’m in the struggle and I can’t leave.

Callin’ out the violence of the racist police.

We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free.

We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free.

Jackson then ends the 47 second challenge asking celebrities to “come on, sing it out.”
