The murder of Laquan McDonald, shot 16 times by a Chicago police officer, occurred way back in October 2014. However, the practices of the Chicago police department allowed for cover-ups and lies to keep the details from coming to light. Today, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced that the Department of Justice will investigate the Chicago Police Department and the accepted practices that allowed for the killing and cover-up to take place.

Emanuel: City will support release of video of another fatal police shooting

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Thursday the city will drop its fight against the release of a police dashboard camera video depicting a Chicago police officer fatally shooting a man in the back on the city’s South Side.
