White man leaves KKK robe at consignment store owned by black Seattle-area woman

Police in Washington state are searching for a man who dropped off a KKK robe and hood at a second-hand clothing store owned by a black woman, Fox13 reports.

 

Leona Coakley-Spring owns Rags to Riches Consignment, which she opened only a few months ago, in an affluent suburb of Seattle. She was shocked this week when a white man brought in a bag of dresses which also contained the racist attire.

Coakley-Spring believes it was a threat.

Barbara Dawson (1958-2015), a Black American woman, died soon after police forcibly removed her from Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown, a small town in the Florida Panhandle. This was four days before Christmas,

 

At 10.30pm on the night of December 20th 2015, she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. She had stomach pains.

 

Before dawn the next morning, the hospital discharged her. It said her condition was stable. She said she was still in pain and had trouble breathing.

Why I Cried Today

 

Last night was surreal. I tweeted about it seconds after it happened, when I was back safely inside my home. I can’t say as I felt that my life was threatened, but I was made to feel startled, scared, upset, like I was a criminal, and totally creeped out.
Right now, I don’t feel particularly safe in my own home.

Why do I live in a world where I have to feel a sense of relief that I wasn’t shot dead, or assaulted or beaten or sexually assaulted? –

Feelings that interfere with the feelings about being pretty much stalked by a police officer.
