Innocent Woman Extorted, Kidnapped, Jailed by officers doing wrong so long, they begun to believe that wrong is right

The town of Woodworth, Louisiana is in hot water. Police officers were caught on dashcam video shaking down innocent motorists during a traffic stop, and the state’s second highest court wants the city to pay for it. On Wednesday, the Court of Appeals in favor of Patricia Parker’s lawsuit against the town.

At 6am on January 4, 2009, Parker was in a pickup truck driving her colleagues, Rufus Smith and Gracie Jackson, to work at the Methodist Center. As she drove on Coulee Crossing Road, Officer David R. Godwin decided to follow. Dashcam video shows Parker obeyed the speed limit, signaled before turning and committed no violations. So Officer Godwin pulled her over.

A 19-year-old Wisconsin man was shot and killed Friday by a police officer during a scuffle inside an apartment in Madison, police officials said. The shooting prompted protests that continued on Saturday and led officials to call for restraint while the shooting is investigated.

The shooting occurred Friday evening after the police received calls for a man who had committed battery and was jumping in and out of traffic, Michael C. Koval, the Madison chief of police, said. A police officer followed the man to an apartment and forced his way in after hearing a disturbance inside, the chief said. The man then assaulted the officer, who shot the man, according to Chief Koval, who spoke at a news conference in Madison Friday evening.

The officer immediately began rendering first aid, but the man died at a hospital, Chief Koval said. The authorities did not immediately release his name, but his mother identified him as Tony Robinson, an African-American who graduated from high school in 2014.

 

“My son has never been a violent person,” Andrea Irwin, who identified herself as Mr. Robinson’s mother, told WKOW, a Madison television station. “And to die in such a violent, violent way, it baffles me.”…

North Texas activists protest killing of unarmed Mexican immigrant

Martha Romero, Villalpando’s wife, sat quietly in the front row of the conference room with her four children. Villalpando’s parents who were visiting from the Mexican state of Durango sat behind her wearing “Justice for Ruben” stickers.

Signs around the room read with “Are you going to kill me?” which Villalpando’s family said were his final words.

The activist reaction comes after the unarmed Villalpando was shot and killed by Grapevine police officer Robert Clark on the night of Feb 20.

After clearing its agenda, the council left the remainder of the meeting to those who had signed up to speak.

“Right now it’s my family suffering, but what about tomorrow? What about the families of tomorrow?” said Fernando Romero, Villalpando’s brother-in-law. “We want this to stop and we want justice. We want what is right. We want everything to be clear. I’m asking you to make it right.”
