In human rights work, a constant goal is to convince people that people should have human human rights — regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual preference, or physical and mental abilities.
It’s not enough to tell ourselves that “this is common sense”. People need to be reminded to not be prejudice and laws need to be fixed to protect and empower people.
