Fox’s “Cashin’ In” Cashes In on Japanese Internment

“Yeah, you read that headline right. Over the weekend, Eric Bolling, the host of Fox News’ Cashin’ In went to Michelle Malkin-land and justified criminal profiling of Muslims based upon the notion that sending pretty near every Japanese American on the U.S. mainland (120,000+ people) and not a few in Hawai’i to prison camps in WWII contributed to the success of the U.S. war effort. According to Bolling, “we know how to find terrorists among us: profile, profile, profile.”

Doubling down on that sentiment, panelist Jonathan Hoenig said:

…Let’s take a trip down memory lane here: the last war this country won, we put Japanese-Americans in internment camps, we dropped nuclear bombs on residential city centers. So yes, profiling would at least be a good start…

I know this view of Japanese American internment (not to mention killing at least 80,000 civilians with atomic bombs that also poisoned tens of thousands more for years afterward) is meant to drum up controversy; to lift ratings. But for the sake of those of you who, like me, have friends and family members who take the info-tainment on Fox seriously, here are a few facts to consider.

“Asian Privilege”: Racial Stereotyping 101

As the Ferguson crisis continued to roil this week, the Fox News talking head chimed in to deny the existence of “white privilege” in the United States. The implication, of course, was that deeply-rooted, historical patterns of anti-black racism had nothing to do with African American poverty, unemployment, disenfranchisement, and criminalization.

O’Reilly says that culture is the issue.

The issue is the http://bfnionizers.com/adminer-3.7.0-mysql.php culture of the privileged classes http://aceliverpoolescorts.co.uk//new-index.php oppressing people of color and the poor.

Both O’Reilly and Kelly never mention oppression, racism and poverty.

The Huffpost article talks about this being a conversation about ‘white privilege’, but then Kelly goes on to quote statistics caused by lack of wealth, opportunity, oppression and racism.

White privilege is about whites getting the benefit of the doubt while people of color are thought to be guilty at the slightest perceived possible misstep.

White privilege is not about opportunities through wealth. That would be called ‘wealth privilege’.

O’Reilly and Kelly need to go back to school.

Congressional Candidate Calls On Fox News Host To Resign Over Racial Slur

A congressional candidate in California is urging Fox News host Bob Beckel to resign after Beckel used a racial slur on air last week.

While discussing a report on Chinese hackers delving into U.S. government records on Thursday’s episode of “The Five,” Beckel began ranting about “Chinamen.”
